Early Years
The Early Years at Barnston encourages exploration and experimentation and helps to
Develop your child’s creativity and independence
At Barnston Primary School the Early Years is a very special year when your children are welcomed into a stimulating environment where they start their exciting journey. We believe every child should feel secure, valued, nurtured and develop their confidence. At our school children can explore their own interests and ideas within our very creative curriculum and school based topical learning. This links with our whole school curriculum. Barnston Primary School provides a wonderful Foundation Stage 2 Unit where children have access to a rich outdoor environment where further learning is enhanced and takes place. Throughout the year parents are invited and welcomed into our school to have the exciting opportunity of working alongside their children through a number of workshops. These encompass learning areas such as Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Writing and Mathematics which closely link to the Physical Development area of learning. These activities and challenges are developed through active learning opportunities in our hall, Outdoor Area and the school environment. The workshops offer wonderful opportunities for you to get an insight into the different activities we at Barnston Primary School offer to your children and will support your parental input at home.
