History lessons at Barnston Primary School aim to inspire children to ask critical historical questions and understand the impact of historical events. History lessons at Barnston motivate and nurture the enjoyment of independent learning. Children have the opportunity to research primary and secondary sources of evidence and to examine the cause and effect of historical periods. Lessons build upon prior learning and encourage children to reflect on their historical knowledge. Chronological links and timelines are used throughout the school to enable our children to broaden their perspective of the world in which we live.
